BRCC Fredericksburg Supports More Than 1,500 Soldiers of The Old Guard
On May 21, 2026, Black Rifle Coffee Company Fredericksburg proudly supported the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as “The Old Guard.” We donated fresh coffee as they prepared for one of the military’s most meaningful traditions.
Nearly 1,500 Soldiers from The Old Guard took part in the annual “Flags In” ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. They placed American flags at more than 250,000 gravesites and memorial locations before Memorial Day weekend. Since 1948, The Old Guard has carried out this solemn tradition. It serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices generations of American service members have made.
Supporting Those Who Honor America’s Fallen
The Old Guard is the oldest active-duty infantry regiment in the United States Army. It serves as the Army’s official ceremonial unit. In addition to conducting military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery, the regiment guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and participates in national ceremonies and state events.
As Soldiers prepared for a long day of service during Flags In, BRCC Fredericksburg proudly provided coffee to help fuel their mission.
Coffee may seem like a small gesture. For many service members, however, it represents camaraderie, readiness, and a moment of connection before work begins.
The Meaning Behind Flags In
Each year, before Arlington National Cemetery opens for Memorial Day weekend, Soldiers from The Old Guard place an American flag at every headstone and columbarium niche throughout the cemetery.
On May 21, 2026, about 1,500 Soldiers participated in this tradition. They placed more than 250,000 flags to honor America’s fallen heroes. The ceremony creates one of the nation’s most moving displays of remembrance and helps preserve the legacy of those who served.
A Shared Commitment to Service
Veterans founded Black Rifle Coffee Company, and the company continues to support military members, veterans, first responders, and their families through products, partnerships, and community initiatives.
Supporting The Old Guard during Flags In was a natural extension of that mission.
We are honored to have played a small role in supporting the Soldiers who preserve the traditions and sacrifices that define Memorial Day.
